Nangma Valley Trek Kande

Nangma Valley Trek

The Kande Nangma Valley Trek stands out as a remarkable destination for rock climbing enthusiasts in the Karakoram Baltistan Region. This magnificent valley, situated in Karakoram , offers an array of rock climbing opportunities ranging from moderate to high altitudes. Notable peaks like Amin Braq (5850 M) and the Incredible Towers (5800 meters) adorn this breathtaking region. Our customized program aims to provide an exceptional experience for scaling these peaks, allowing climbers to set up base camps amidst the awe-inspiring greenery surrounded by towering granite structures. Kande Nangma Valley, nestled in Hushe Valley, Baltistan, is truly a captivating trekking destination.

Enchanting views of the Hushe Valley, fascinating cultural encounters, stunning natural beauty, and the abundance of mountainous landscapes entice travelers and trekkers to this remarkable region. Embarking on a 45-minute drive from Khaplu town towards the north, passing through Machulo village, becomes an unforgettable experience. This route offers a delightful stroll through the charming hamlets of Machulo, allowing for interactions with the friendly locals. The grand Mosque, with its Haldi cones in the background, adds to the town’s splendid beauty. Machulo also serves as an ideal base for trekkers, providing the easiest, most cost-effective, and captivating view point known as “Machulo La K2 view point.” From this magical vantage point, one can witness the majestic K2 and all other 8000m peaks of Pakistan in a single glance.

The road from Hushe leads to Talis, Marzigond, and finally to Kanday, the starting point for the captivating Kanday Nangma Valley Trek. Balaygond and Khaney villages, situated on the opposite side of the Hushe River, offer their own scenic beauty and trekking spots amidst the towering cliff rocks. Kanday village faced significant damage due to a massive flood, resulting in the migration of its residents to the upper side, establishing the new Kanday village. This new village serves as the gateway to embark on the Kanday Nangma Valley Trek.

Why is the Kanday Nangma Valley Trek Famous?
Embarking on a simple trek from Kanday town takes you to the Nangma Valley, an oasis of untamed beauty adorned with numerous rock towers. The valley is renowned as a paradise for rock climbing, offering a mesmerizing landscape filled with lush meadows, diverse tree species, and pristine flowing waters. It is truly an unforgettable journey, allowing me to indulge in my passion for rock climbing.

Our tailored program ensures maximum exploration, trekking opportunities, and peak scaling by setting up base camps amidst the magnificent green surroundings. The valley’s exploration began in 1909 with the Italian Expedition led by Amadeo Guiseepie. The Kanday Nangma Valley Trek offers a chance to witness these wonders with one’s own eyes.

Amin Braq, one of the most challenging and extensive walls on our planet, surpasses even the Anonymous Pinnacle in difficulty. It was first attempted in May 1996 by the experienced Basque big wall climber, Jon Lazkano. Lazkano, along with Adolfo Madinabeitia and Jose Carlos Tamayo, returned in 1997 for a bivouac-style expedition on the rock face.

Their route, Sol Solet (1650m), required 34 days and is considered one of the most technically complex routes in the world. In the same season, a Korean team climbed 27 pitches on the west face but had to turn back only 100 meters from the summit due to heavy snowfall and strong winds. Less than a month later, the Czech team of Filip Silhan, Marek Holecek, and David Stastny completed their route to the summit, naming it Czech Express (5.12c A3, 70 degrees).

The west face, characterized by a series of ridges, is not particularly vertical.
