The valley is home to the famous Shigar Fort, once the residence of the native ruler.
The Upper Kachura Lake is a hidden gem in Skardu, yet to be explored by many tourists due to its remote location and lack of infrastructure. Satpara Lake is another beautiful destination, located at an altitude of 8650ft, and sourced from the melting ice of the Deosai plains. The Deosai Plain, also known as the land of giants, is home to Brown bears and rare species of flora and fauna. The mesmerizing Sheosar Lake, the highest lake of its kind in the world, is situated amidst the vast plains of Deosai, offering a captivating view of the surrounding greenery and mountains of Nanga Parbat.
