The expedition will take climbers to the world’s 12th highest mountain, Broad Peak, which is located in the Karakoram mountain range of Pakistan. The journey will include a scenic mountain view flight to Skardu and a trek through the ancient Himalayan kingdom of Baltistan, passing by the impressive towers of Trango Cathedral and Lobsang, with spectacular views of Gasherbrum and K2 from Concordia.
The Broad Peak Expedition is a demanding mountaineering journey that requires a high level of climbing and mountaineering skills. Climbers with previous experience scaling mountains over 6,800 meters will have an advantage in achieving the summit. Standing at the pinnacle of Broad Peak is a life-changing and rewarding experience.
Trans Karakoram has been organizing Broad Peak Expeditions for 40 years, making them one of the oldest and most experienced local companies. The expedition will last 60-72 days and full board logistic services will be provided until Base Camp. The duration of the expedition may be adjusted based on the clients’ experience and available time.
The expedition will start at Islamabad International Airport, where a representative will meet and greet climbers before transferring them to the hotel for a briefing about the expedition. The following day, climbers will take a scenic 45-minute flight to Skardu, where they will prepare for the expedition and do any necessary shopping. From there, they will take a Jeep to Askoli, the last village before entering the Karakoram mountains, where the climbing portion of the expedition will begin.
During the climb, a mountain guide, chef, and supporting crew will be at Base Camp to assist the climbers. After the climbing period, the expedition will follow the same itinerary back to Islamabad. The expedition will conclude with a night in Islamabad before departing from Islamabad International Airport.
Trans Karakoram has over four decades of experience, local contacts, and local knowledge to ensure a smooth and successful Broad Peak Expedition.
